Almost as soon as I’d finished taking the shot of these little beauties, a small hand reached out and grabbed one, devouring it before I even had a chance to offer them round. That was my 3 year-old, who completely adores these. It later turned out they are also a big hit with the baby. Well, who doesn’t love a bit of fried potato!? Fortunately these are also packed full of fresh green goodness and the edamame beans add a protein punch, making them a complete mini-meal in themselves.

Easy Like a Sunday Lunch Puree

Spinach and Apple Falafel
It’s easy to get stuck in a bit of a rut when it comes to lunches. With a little bit of inspiration (we’ll provide that bit) and forward planning (you do that bit), you and baby don’t have to end up eating the same sandwiches day after day. Also, even for the really savvy finger-feeding infant, sandwiches with their contents that just want to fall out all over the place are a bit of an ordeal.
Beetroot Bread
It’s probably fair to say that most kids love bread. To be honest, I love bread! It’s hard to avoid and is pretty much a staple in our house. So I got to thinking… why not throw some kind of veg into the dough to make it a little bit more nutritious and perhaps a little more colourful while I’m at it? Then I also wouldn’t feel quite so guilty handing my 9 month-old a fist-full to chew on while I finish making dinner, even if he also had some at lunch time!
