Easy Like a Sunday Lunch Puree

sunday puree
This is a really easy, one-pot puree that is perfect for popping into pouches for babies who lunch out and about. The flavours are reminiscent of a Sunday lunch without even a smidge of the effort involved in making a roast dinner! (*sings* “I know it sounds funny but I just can’t stand the pain…”).

I also just so happened to have made it quickly on a Sunday morning as we were heading out to lunch as a family that day and wanted to at least guarantee a healthy, simple and tasty meal for the smallest diner amongst us.

This nice creamy medley of flavours provides a great source of protein, iron and vitamin C. If you add the nutty, cheesy Nutritional Yeast, make sure it’s one that is fortified with B12, an essential nutrient for plant-based babies! If you don’t have any to hand, don’t be put off making this puree as it still tastes great without it.

This makes enough to fill about 3 reusable pouches so you can take one with you and put the other two in the freezer for future days when you have even less time!
Simple, tasty, nutritious and fuss-free. Just what you always wanted a Sunday lunch to be. You may also now have a certain slightly annoying Lionel Richie tune in your head. Oops.

1 white potato, peeled and cubed
300mls cold water
½ tsp thyme
½ tsp rosemary
